This is the last version of Bone X that'due south able to run PowerPC apps. As PowerPC machines get older and harder to maintain with spare parts harder to come by, Intel machines able to run Snow Leopard should become more than popular with users that notwithstanding need/want to run PowerPC apps. At this point that would be the main reason to run such an old version of OS 10.

If a auto shipped with Snow Leopard you'll demand the DVD that shipped with the car to install it.

If a machine shipped with an older version of Bone X then a standard Snow Leopard DVD would exist needed.

Snow Leopard is good with PPC apps. If a PPC app doesn't work with Snow Leopard, I recommend trying Leopard instead if the Mac is old plenty. I in one case had a PPC native app that refused to run in Snow Leopard, but would run in Leopard on my 2006 MBP.

This is the concluding version of Os Ten that's able to run PowerPC apps. I wish I had a motorcar that came with SL to test this with. As far as I know the retail version should work on about Macs. Unless it shipped with a newer version of SL than the later retail DVD came with.

I think my Mac Pro 4,i is the but machine I take that shipped with information technology, merely information technology won't boot it with the GPU information technology has. I've been able to install SL on both my 2009 MacBook and Mac Mini using a retail epitome; those shipped with either Leopard or Snow Leopard GM depending on fourth dimension of purchase.

My 2011 MBP shipped with a custom x.6.six. A x.six.three retail disc immediately KPs.

I didn't realize whatever 2011 Macs came with SL. Interesting. I checked Mac Tracker and they shipped with every bit late every bit ten.6.seven
I should larn that image, it would be easy to white list any SL compatible Mac and have a newer installer than 10.vi.3

I don't utilise Snow Leopard but I'm surprised y'all're having that much problem, when from what I understand TenFourFox works pretty well all the way back on Tiger. Have either of y'all tried the Intel (!) builds of TenFourFox to see if its more performant?

Up until this line right hither, I never knew at that place were mid-2011 Mac minis which could not boot into SL. Has this been definitively verified by anyone hither?

EDIT: I added a link on a how-to for running SL on all mid-2011 Mac minis (bold you aren't migrating a Carbon Copy Cloner/Super Duper-cloned 10.6.8 already in employ on another 2011 Mac, such every bit an early on or late 2011 MBP).

i could run Opera to browse the web until september when loading a page was like pulling teeth. In2019 i could still use icloud and sync some ipads, ipods and an old itouch. Today (ithink) nothing works cloud-wise and the OSX is kinda lost.

Yeah, because Opera for Snow Leopard is ancient, don't apply that. Become grab a copy of Interweb, which will work with many more sites. And and then peradventure set up this proxy so that https volition work in older apps like Apple Mail.

"The cloud" volition mostly work well enough.

Nope. Works just fine here so not sure what's up on your terminate.

I become the same thing with each browser I use:

1st fourth dimension I visit the site, the download push doesn't practice anything. And so I quit the browser.

second time I visit the site, when I hit the download push button, a box pops up and says "your download is in progress", only nothing actually happens.
